Timothy R. Franklin

Tim is crazy for veterans law and kind of just crazy in general. Breaking ankles playing ice hockey and always finding a way to destroy the right side of his body during mountain bike races (Tim blames the tires), he had the crazy idea to leave his lucrative position as senior attorney for a well-established firm and put up stakes in Colorado Springs and Denver/Aurora opening Lowry Veterans Law Ltd. and providing nationwide representation for veterans and their dependents. Focusing on hiring veteran advocates and giving back to the community when he’s not going broke, his passion is winning VA compensation claims.

Now for the boring stuff…Tim earned his J.D. at the University of Denver, Sturm School of Law, and a B.A. in Political Science, with a minor in Economics, from the University of Colorado at Denver. Tim is VA accredited (2009) and admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.

After graduating from law school in 2008, Tim immediately began working on appeals at the CAVC and successfully argued numerous cases on behalf of disabled veterans. Tim is also experienced in bankruptcy and commercial litigation, but could not resist the draw of helping veterans and now focuses on CAVC, BVA, and VA Regional Office appeals. In addition to private practice, Tim serves on the Board of Rocky Mountain Veterans’ Advocacy Project, a pro bono legal clinic for disabled veterans (founded by his past DU Law students), and he is on the Board of the National Organization of Veterans Advocates.

Tim is also the past president of the Colorado Bar Association’s Colorado Lawyers for Colorado Veterans, where he helps run and maintain the Bar’s Denver veterans legal clinic. Tim served as a board member of the CAVC Bar Association and presented to bar associations and veterans’ groups regularly. Tim is a seven-time recipient of 5280 Magazine’s “Top Lawyers” in the area of veterans’ law. Basically, Tim Likes to send it and score goals, let get those claims granted!
